Almighty father I honour your majesty and glorify you for who you are

Lessons from Genesis 15 and 16

Lessons from Genesis 15 -16

 *Genesis 15:* 

From the beginning we can see how God communes with Abraham. There was no barrier to their communication, He spoke Abraham heard clearly and responded and God heard him.

We know prayer is a way we communicate with God, we also have meditation but often we just want God to hear us while we do not wait to hear from Him which is an essential part to us knowing He heard our prayer and a way we can receive direction from Him.

God was assuring Abraham that He will protect him following the unrest that happened to Lot in Sodom in the previous chapter. But Abraham was bothered about something he sees as a high priority in his life and that is having a child however he had concluded that his servants will be the beneficiary of his inheritance.

God however told Him specifically that he will have a son, he even took him to show the stars to count them that is how many descendants he would have. It's not possible to count all the stars in other words God was showing him how his lineage will grow.

God then reminded him that he brought him out of Ur. We must always remember where God brought us from and where we are. It helps boost our faith in Him. 

He will never bring us to a point and leave us, He will always complete what He started.

In this chapter, it highlights the importance of having a direct relationship with God almighty. There was no third party God was talking and, Abraham was responding, he identified that God was the one talking to him because He had a relationship with him.

God even told Abraham about the slavery of Israelites in a foreign land for 400years and the fact that He will deliver them (Genesis 15:13-15). Our relationship with God can reveal future events and secrets. God does not hide from things from His servants (Amos 3:7-8). Our generation yet unborn can have their destinies fine tuned by us if only we recognize what God had placed in our hands as trail blazers and fore runners.

 *Genesis 16*

This chapter is interesting and there is a lot to learn. Remember in the previous chapter Abraham had an encounter with God and God said he would have a son. We are not sure if he relayed that to Sarai.

However, Sarai woke up one day and concluded that God had shut her womb (not sure where she got that from) then she decided to bring a solution to something God has already solved.

There is a saying, ' _if it's not broken, don't fix it'_. Abraham on the other hand was not discerning enough he obeyed his wife and disobeyed God. 

A woman will always be a woman she did it then started nagging or regretting that it's her fault. Abram then told her to deal with Hagai because she is her servant.

Hmmmm! In life do not allow people or anything that was not there when you had your secret place encounter derail you suddenly and increase your waiting period. _(For 13 years there was no record of Abram hearing from God until he turned 99years_ ).

Do not allow assumptions like Sarai to becloud your vision or purpose.

Hagai started receiving this I'll treatments, then the Angel of God spoke to her. Here I observed something significant, it was the Lord that spoke to Abraham but in the case of Hagai it was an Angel. However, God did not cast Hagai away just because of that mistake he still cared enough to see her (El- ROI) the God who sees us.

It doesn't matter how far away you feel you are to God, He sees you, it doesn't matter how unqualified you may feel He sees you, He doesn't matter who has cast you away He sees you and cares for you.

Even though the Angel told Hagai about Ishmael and the opposition that lies ahead of him, she couldn't or didn't stand in gap.

Lesson here is when God reveals the future to us he wants us to prepare for it. Your preparation can be in the form of prayer for mercy or prayer for divine intervention and manifestation.

As parents never underestimate what God reveals to you about your children that are alive or yet unborn even the generation after them stand in the gap.

You can pray away negativity and they will never see the light of day in your lineage.
